The Italy international has been linked with a return to his home country in recent weeks with Inter Milan closely monitoring his situation and now La Liga giants Barca have thrown their hat in the ring.

Federico Chiesa is likely to be staying at Fiorentina next season despite interest from Napoli and Roma because he is very happy , according to his father Enrico.

Chelsea’s Sam Kerr has sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury during the club’s warm weather training in Morocco.

The Blues and Australia striker will begin rehabilitation with the club’s medical team and is likely to be out for an extended period.

Kerr’s injury is a big loss to Emma Hayes’ side who are looking to win their fourth successive Women’s Super League title.

Roy Hodgson says Wilfried Zaha could still leave Crystal Palace despite the Premier League s transfer window closing.

Before last week s deadline Palace rejected bids from Everton for Zaha, who was also said to be a target for Arsenal, with the winger handing in a transfer request in an attempt to force a move away from Selhurst Park.
