Diogo Dalot says everyone at Manchester United feels like they are “at the start of a special journey” after signing a new deal until at least 2028.

The 24-year-old right-back joined from Porto in 2018 and has gone on to make 107 appearances in all competitions for the club.

Dalot, who spent the 2020-21 season on loan at AC Milan, has now signed new terms at Old Trafford for the next five years, with the option of a further season.

“Playing for Manchester United is one of the highest honours that you can have in football,” the 11-cap Portugal international said.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer appeared to suggest Victor Lindelof could be facing surgery after aggravating a back injury during Manchester United s 2-2 draw with Leicester City on Saturday.

Lindelof has been nursing a back problem since November and was forced off in the 66th minute at the King Power Stadium, where he was deployed at right-back, on Boxing Day.

The Sweden international has only sat out one Premier League game for United this season but Solskjaer hinted he could now be facing a spell on the sidelines.

The much-respected 70-year-old was appointed by Dortmund in June as part of Edin Terzic s backroom staff.

Hermann has spent more than three decades coaching in German football, appearing on the touchline for over 1,000 games in the Bundesliga, 2.Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal.

He previously had two spells as assistant at Bayern Munich, where he played a part in the club s famous treble alongside Jupp Heynckes in the 2012-13 season.

Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling if he becomes available in the upcoming transfer window.

Since arriving from Liverpool in 2015, Sterling has accumulated 130 goals and 70 assists from 336 appearances in all major club competitions, and has 19 goals from 74 senior caps for England.

Despite his status as one of England s best players, Sterling has found himself on the fringes at times during the tail end of this season, playing just 28 minutes across City s two-legged Champions League tie against Real Madrid.
